Re: Moving Surfshop to a new file server.

Frank, I wanted to let you know that I moved Surfshop successfully to my new server. My hosting service let me keep both my old and new file systems up and running--but my initial backup worked fine on the new server without having to go back to the original files. With a few path changes in the pro...

Moving Surfshop to a new file server.

Due to some longstanding DNS issues, I'm going to need to back up and re-install my Surfshop installation to a new file server. (1). I use version SSP Version #1.4.8 . (2) There will be no change to my domain name. Looking at my Configuration screen, the only parameter that needs to be changed is th...

Re: Problem when customer wants to update his/her own info

Frank, I did another test. During the first run, which I described above, I asked Firefox (version 3.0.1.5) to save the password for my made-up user. So I went back to the Firefox security settings, and deleted the saved username/password, and logged in again. NO problem this time. Of course, many o...

Problem when customer wants to update his/her own info

Hi, Frank. There is a problem when a customer tries to update his or her own customer information. I've created a made-up customer, with all appropriate fields filled in. I log out after information is submitted. When I am logged in as Administrator all of the information that I entered as the made-...

Changing shopping card default message

When a 'shopper' has chosen a category and is viewing products, the following line displays:

**** EMPTY LINE **** Can be used for another message. DO NOT DELETE. ****

Where can I change the contents of this text?

Again, thanks for your assistance.

Long Description text size

Frank, Thank you again for all of the help last Friday. I was looking at the documentation for the long description field for an item. It states: long_desc Long text description of the item. This field can be up to 1k in length and can contain HTML. A shortened version of this text appears in the se...

Re: Errors during installation

Frank, I don't have an AIM (I'm assuming that's some type of instant messaging account) or any other type of messaging. You're going to have to advise me on this if I need to set one up--which service, how to set it up securely whatever. I could set up up an email account on my domain if you want to...

Re: Errors during installation

Frank, I spent the last 40 odd minutes using the command line ftp deleting the old files in the surfshop directory on-line, and then re-sending them in the ascii mode. I couldn't figure out how to force FileZilla to use the ascii mode. With that done, I re-ran autoconfig.cgi from my browser. It reta...

Re: Errors during installation

Good afternoon. First, in case this causes problems communicating, I've been getting a whole range of php errors when I've tried to post a new post or response to the Forum. If it happens again I will save the screens with the error messages. I uploaded the three folders , surfshop, ssdata, and ssim...

Errors during installation

Frank, I've spent about four hours this morning trying to install my Surfshop Pro. After running the autoconfig.cgi program, I fill in all of the required fields. When I press submit, I get the following information: Welcome to SurfShopPRO Automatic Store Configuration SurfShop is unable to write to...

Re: Two more questions.

Frank,

The issue with the "Payment Type - Other" seeds to be resolved after posting the code that you suggested.

The calculation problem is not. With the new code --

10,3
+,0

there is no shipping fee added for order either above or below $10.00.

Thanks,

Re: Two more questions.

Frank, When logging into the Front-End/Demo-store as a practice customer, I placed an order with the "Paypal Invoice" as Payment type. The system generated an order with the cart id 0000000059. But the order did not show up in the order list. All I want is for the customer to be able to easily notif...

Two more questions.

On Calculations--shipping cost. Is it possible to have a shipping table that will charge a shipping fee on orders under a minimum, say $10.00, and then no charge on amounts over that minimum. I tried this in calculations, 1,3.00 10,0.000 +,0.00 I really don't understand the logic behind the calcula...
