Sales Tax check for both state and country

Hi Frank, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how to efficiently use a lookup to check both the state and country codes to see whether or not the customer should pay tax. Checking the state only works perfectly but we have foreign customers who forget to set the state (outside California) and...

Re: Shipping Charge on Checkout

"The calculation needs to know where it's being shipped to before it will display the appropriate information. You'll either need to remove the field from all screens prior to the confirmation screen, or add a way for the customer to select the ShipTo country, postal code, etc. prior to showing the ...

After I posted that I then realized that must have been the intent. Not a problem.

Links to jquery and PrettyPhoto lightbox need updating

The links to jQuery and PrettyPhoto are broken because the content no longer exists on domain.com. I commented out this: <script src="http://www.domain.com/scripts/js/jquery/jq-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://www.domain.com/scripts/js/prettyPhoto/jquery.prettyPhot...

Shipping Charge on Checkout

Hi Frank, -------------------------- I see now that I asked the same question 10 years ago (under "Calculations"). At the same you said the calculation depends on user input but then you noted that it was "fixed in 1.4.6" -- not sure what that means. ----------------------------- Question/problem re...

Re: Footer seems to be disabled

Thanks. That seems to work. One last question: when using the Admin to change the user interface, where do changes to the "HTML Regions" fields get stored? It would be nice to be able to keep incremental backups/changes to Header, Navigation etc. but not sure if that content is stored in separate fi...

Footer seems to be disabled

Just installed the latest version have been playing around with "Template Options" in the Admin. The Footer text/functions seems to be disabled -- no change to the displayed footer text no matter what I put into the field. Credit card images followed by "Contact Us * Discounts and fees * Policy" rem...

Re: Can't locate DateTime.pm in @INC

I had the same problem trying to install the latest version of SurfShop Pro. My web hosting company installation was missing the DateTime Perl module but they installed it for me and then I was able to get autoconfig to launch normally. Everything looks good now. Thanks Frank for all your help. Very...

Installing version update--overwrite existing data?

I am getting ready to install the latest Surfshop version over the top of a working store (earlier version). It seems like I'm going to wipe out/overwrite all my directories during the install process. Can I rename the directories or otherwise install the update into a different directory, test it, ...

Re: Shipping methods not selecting correctly for Country

When you installed SurfShopPRO, did you upload the files in ASCII mode? If not, that could be the source of your problems. Honestly, I don't know if I imported as ASCII or not. I use the Transmit (FTP) program to copy files from my local Mac up to the server. Is there some way to check now to see i...

I wrote them from scratch--just used the "demo" calcs already there for the 1.4.1 installation. Does your installation actually work properly? Can you create several shipping methods that have "Calc Type = _field", "Cross Type = _weight", "By Field = Ecom_ShipTo_Postal_CountryCode", "Cross Tests = 2...

Shipping methods not selecting correctly for Country

I am having a couple of problems with the 1.4.1 Surfshop code. Things are generally working but the Calculations code for shipping methods is, I think, broken in a few places. Our prior installation was surfshop7_3_721 and shipping calculations all worked fine. The new one produces erroneous results...

tarptent.com

Have been using SurfShop for over 3 years now and have been quite happy with it. It took a little while to understand how all the data files work but, once understood, now it's quite easy to modify the look and feel to match the rest of the website. Looking forward to SurfShopPRO 2.0!

Keep in mind that any changes you make to the templates (as far as SurfShop generated code is concerned) will be changed if you make any changes on the Default Template Options page.
OK, good point. Thanks.

Start Page Category Columns fixed at 3?

I don't seem to be able to change the number of columns displayed on the start page. I'm trying to use that page to show category icons and the columns are always set to 3, no matter what I set for results etc. in the Default Template Options. I took a look at the start.htm code and can't seem to fi...
